Programs Overview

Rec

Recreational Soccer consists of two six-week seasons: Fall and Spring. This program provides a great introduction to soccer, helping children learn basic skills during weekly practices and apply them in weekly games on Saturdays. Teams are coached by parent volunteers, and each child receives a program t-shirt. This program is similar to what you would typically expect from Parks and Recreation leagues.

Kicks for Tots

Kicks for Tots (formerly Pre-K) is a program designed for children who are not yet in kindergarten. The season aligns with the MSC Spring and Fall Recreation seasons and focuses on fun, age-appropriate skill development. MSC provides trained and paid coaches to lead each session. Practices are held once per week and last 45 minutes, and each child receives a program t-shirt.

Goalkeeper

Goalkeeper Training is a specialized program designed to develop the unique skills and techniques required for the goalkeeper position. Sessions focus on proper handling, footwork, diving technique, positioning, shot-stopping, and distribution, while also emphasizing communication, decision-making, and confidence in game-like situations. Training typically takes place during the competitive season and provides goalkeepers with position-specific coaching to improve both technical ability and tactical understanding.

Competitive

Competitive Travel Soccer is designed for players who are committed to advancing their skills and competing at a higher level of play. Teams participate in structured training and travel to tournaments to compete against clubs from other communities and regions. This environment provides increased competition, faster-paced games, and higher expectations for player development.

The program typically includes multiple seasons throughout the year, with teams attending several tournaments per season. Players are expected to demonstrate commitment, teamwork, and a willingness to grow both individually and collectively. Competitive Travel Soccer emphasizes technical development, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and sportsmanship while fostering a strong sense of team culture and accountability.

Foot-All

Foot-All is a skills-based program designed to improve a player’s confidence and ability on the ball. The training focuses on ball control, footwork, dribbling, and coordination through high-repetition, game-like activities. Players will work on using both feet, changing direction, and maintaining control under pressure.

Academy

Players will receive focused training during the Rec season that does not interfere with Rec practices or games. This advanced training is designed to develop individual skills and tactical understanding.
